Announcement Sunday

5 May

In case you haven’t already heard, the big announcement was delivered Sunday, April 25. Our goal was $800,000.00 in commitments over and above regular giving over the next 3 years. The final tabulation of the commitments for the Commit-to-Community Capital Stewardship Program was an incredible $825,388.35!

I was humbled and so encouraged. To me it wasn’t about the money or the next building, but the commitment to the vision I believe God has given us for this church. At the commitment service on March 28, the text of the message was the story of Abraham obeying God by taking Isaac to Moriah to sacrifice him to the Lord. There is a great line in that story that we focused on: “So Abraham called that place The LORD will Provide.” (Genesis 22:14) I challenged people to give only what God put on their heart to give and trust Him to provide. It was humbling to watch families stream to the altar, place their commitment cards in the baskets, and kneel and pray for God to bless this church and make us a blessing in this community.

What are we building? Check out the FAQ’s page for more info.

If you missed out on the Commit-to-Community Campaign you can still be a part of it. Commitment cards are available in the church office. Call 251-0719 and ask Roxanne to send you a card or email her at roxanneyatman@pc-church.org. I can never thank God enough for the incredible privilege of being the pastor of this church. And thank you to everyone who made a commitment. Soon we’ll make the next big announcement: a ground breaking ceremony!
